Aragorn - Lord of the Rings
into the very fires of Mordor."
Aragorn was the first cosplay where I really started getting interested in following references and learning to “stay accurate” in crafting. It wasn’t necessarily a huge success in the accuracy department, but I learned so much and have fond memories from wearing this cosplay at HobbitCon in 2015.
The main piece for this cosplay is the “liquorice” green duster. The lacing on the sleeves run all the way down from the underarm seam and to the wrist. I’m thankful for the thorough documentation of the costumes in the behind the scenes material for the movies. For the patterns, I based most of the pieces on Simplicity 1552 and altered them as I saw fit.
For weathering and dirt makeup, I used Maekup by David Stoneman. These products are wonderful to work with and I can definitely recommend the fake mud.
