Percival de Rolo III - Critical Role
Initially I fell for the look of Percival de Rolo III from Critical Role’s campaign 1, but I ended up being fascinated by his character and development. My take on him was loosely based on the official character design by Kit Buss, but with my own ideas incorporated.
Most of the patterns used for this were custom drafted except for the waistcoat and white shirt which were crated using the Simplicity M2090 pattern.
I made the jacket in a faux suede fabric and a darker textured fabric for trim. I lined it with a bronze fabric to add some contrast to the many blue tones. The fur on the collar is real rabbit fur and the actually ended up being quite heavy.
The two prop guns – ‘Bad News’ and ‘The List’ – and the mask were all created using EVA foam and pvc pipe. I wanted them to be as light as possible, so I wouldn’t get tired of carrying them around at conventions. The raven skull was sculpted in fimo clay and painted.
The wig is from Arda Wigs. The glasses are from Ebay and the loop was bought separately on Etsy.
