Yasha Nydoorin - Critical Role
When the concept designs for the second campaign of Critical Role were released, I knew I had to cosplay Yasha. Cosplaying her has lead to me meeting so many wonderful people and friends. Not to mention that I met Matt Mercer while wearing it. Never has a costume had such big impact on me.
Now to the costume: I made the cloak with a piece of spare wool and fur from my material stash. The fur was originally gray with black tips, and I dyed it using thinned out acrylic paint in 3 nuances of blue and one in black that I sprayed onto it. Messy, but very effective. Furthermore, the fur shoulder parts have a bit of padding and is lined with cotton. All the belts were made in black pleather and I created the stormlord buckle using EVA foam and worbla. The leggins were bought and then dyed by me.
The bodice and bracer/glove were all made in the same faux suede and to see a step-for-step tutorial on how I made the bodice click here.
The Yasha showcase video was a collaboration with my friend and photographer Rebecca Lyhne. It was a bit of an experiment and a labor of love. Vibe / Vanellus Cosplay assisted on the shoot and played the role of Zuala. See the video below the gallery!
